Anderson Silva receives Zico's shirt and thanks him: 'It gave me more motivation'

In the final stretch of recovery after the fracture suffered in the rematch against Chris Weidman, in December last year, Anderson Silva received strong support this Thursday (04). On the date, Spider met with star Zico, former Flamengo and Brazilian national team, and was presented with a shirt signed by Galinho de Quintino. In your profile on Instagram, Anderson recorded the meeting and thanked the help of number 10 from the 1982 and 1986 World Cups.

“Great master Zico, thank you for the tips, I will come back stronger. Thank you very much, you gave me more motivation to overcome this phase”, wrote Anderson along with the image of the delivery of the personalized t-shirt. Arthur Antunes Coimbra, or Zico, as he became known, played professionally between 1971 and 1994. Throughout his career, Gávea's eternal number 10 scored 831 goals in 1176 games. In addition to Flamengo, Zico also played for Udinese (Italy) and Kashima Antlers (Japan) – where he ended his career.

At 39, Anderson Silva has a professional record of 33 wins and six losses. Holder of the middleweight title between 2006 and 2013, Spider reached the mark of ten consecutive title defenses, a record in UFC history. Defeated twice by Chris Weidman, in July and December last year, Anderson fractured his leg in the second meeting and has been recovering from the injury since then. Currently, free to train normally, the Brazilian only has some restrictions on jumping and kicking with his injured leg.
