Lyoto Machida He has been on the rise in the UFC since moving down to the middleweight category (up to 84 kg). The Brazilian, former champion of the top category, beat Mark Muñoz and Gegard Mousasi in an imposing manner, which guaranteed him the opportunity to fight for the division belt. However, the current champion, Chris Weidman, assured that he will stop Machida's good moment next Saturday (5), in the main fight of UFC 175.

Weidman stated that he expects the Brazilian to present his usual characteristics, although with his confidence high due to his good moment. “In terms of style, Machida will be the same fighter he was at light heavyweight. Dropping weight can make you faster, stronger and more confident. I hope for one Lyoto Machida very confident, but I will break his momentum”, said Weidman, in an interview with the podcast “The Great MMA Debate”, from the “FOX” group.

The champion also guaranteed that he will take every initiative to not leave the fight in the hands of the judges. “I feel like, when I have a full training period, I go out there and end the fight before the judges decide. That's my mindset. I will not stop. The entire fight will have me trying to finish him. If it lasts five rounds, I won't lose by decision because I'll almost have him finished the entire time. I always prepare for a war, but I will try to finish the fight all the time. I won’t be satisfied until I finish the fight”, he insisted.

Weidman will make his second defense of the belt in the city of Las Vegas, in the United States. Machida will participate in his third fight as a UFC title challenger: in the previous two, in the light heavyweight division, he beat Rashad evans and lost to Jon Jones.
