At war with USADA, Conor McGregor rules out returning to MMA in 2023

The Irishman threw cold water on Dana White's plans and said that it is unlikely that he will be cleared by USADA to return to fight this season.

The eternal soap opera of the return of Conor McGregor the UFC has just gained another chapter. After Dana White said that the duel with Michael chandler should take place in 2023, the Irishman took to his social media and threw a 'bucket of cold water' into the organization's plans.

“They won’t let me fight in December, ladies and gentlemen,” Conor said in a Twitter voicemail.

Absent from the octagon since July 2021, when he suffered a serious injury in the trilogy against Dustin poirier, Conor continues with his irregular status with USADA (National Anti-Doping Agency). To be able to return to the UFC, the Irishman needs to undergo at least six months of tests and prove that he is clean.

While Conor hasn't competed in two seasons, Michael is waiting to make his first challenge in 2023. The fighter hasn't stepped into the Octagon since his setback against Dustin poirier, UFC 281in November 2022.

Beside Michael chandler, McGregor led the thirty-first edition of the reality show 'The Ultimate Fighter'. The two fighters were supposed to face each other at the end of the season, which crowned their two champions in the UFC 292, held last Saturday (19). However, the duel is still not expected to be held due to the imbroglio involving the former double Ultimate champion.
