The weekend in which the 2014 World Cup semifinalists will be announced will also mark the holding of one of the most important events on the MMA calendar this year: UFC 175, in Las Vegas (USA). One of the stars of fight night is the Brazilian Lyoto Machida – who also supported the team in the painful victory over Chile, in the opening of the round of 28 of the World Cup, last Saturday (XNUMX). After the penalty shootout triumph, Lyoto used the Twitter to celebrate and promised to give Brazil fans similar joy in the fight against Chris Weidman for the middleweight belt.

“Thanks selection! Next Saturday I will give the same joy”, Machida published on his official profile on the microblogging network. In last Saturday's match at Mineirão, in Belo Horizonte (MG), Brazil took the lead with a goal from defender David Luiz, but conceded the draw in the second half, with a goal scored by Chilean striker Alexis Sanchez. After experiencing moments of tension and seeing Chile hit the post in the last minute of extra time, the Brazilian team won classification on penalties, thanks mainly to goalkeeper Júlio César – who saved two shots.
