Next Saturday (5), Lyoto Machida challenges Chris Weidman for the middleweight belt in the main fight of UFC 175. As a warm-up for the event in Las Vegas (USA), the SUPER FIGHTS recalls one of the most spectacular moments of the Brazilian's career: the knockout with a front kick that knocked out Randy Couture and ended the career of the member of Hall of Fame from Ultimate.
On April 30, 2011, still operating in the light heavyweight division, Lyoto faced Randy Couture on the main card of UFC 129 – to this day, an event that holds the attendance record in the organization's history, with more than 55 thousand people present at Rogers Centre, in Canada. In the second round, the Brazilian landed a front kick to the veteran's face, which was very reminiscent of the blow applied by the character Daniel Larusso at the end of the film “Karate Kid”. In addition to the defeat and retirement, Couture also lost a tooth – in an image recorded and reproduced exhaustively at the time.
