Dana goes against Demetrious Johnson and names John Dodson as his next challenger

A rematch for the flyweight belt should be the next challenge for the champion, who recently defended his title against Ali Bagautinov

In recent years, North American Demetrious Johnson He has become one of the most dominant champions in Ultimate and already occupies fourth place in the organization's weight-for-weight rankings. After successfully defending his title again at UFC 174, Demetrious must have an old acquaintance ahead of him next: John Dodson. The information was revealed by President Dana White, who said he was not concerned about Johnson's opinion.

“I'm sorry if Demetrious (Johnson) doesn't like this fight, because this is probably the fight he's going to get. Without a doubt, this is one of the main fights in the UFC this year”, said White, in an interview with the official Ultimate website. Johnson and Dodson faced each other for the first time at UFC on FOX 6, with the champion winning by unanimous decision from the judges after five rounds.

At 27, Demetrious Johnson has a record of 21 wins, two losses and one draw. The champion is coming off a triumph over Ali Bagautivov at UFC 174, on June 14th. Already John Dodson has a record of 17 wins and six losses. At 29 years old, “The Magician”, as he is known, comes from a victory over John Moraga, due to medical interruption, on June 7th.
