Mike Kogan, manager of several MMA fighters, caused controversy when he used a racist word to criticize the UFC featherweight champion, José Aldo.

In a post made on his account on Instagram, Kogan placed a link of a piece of news in which the Brazilian complains about the pay he receives at the UFC, and, to do so, he used an offensive expression. “This n**** needs to make up his mind. He needs to be firm and stop changing his mind,” he wrote [check out the photo below].

Shortly afterwards, Kogan received a barrage of criticism, which forced him to delete the post. He then sent a statement to the North American website “MMA Junkie”, in which he stated that his intention was to refute Aldo's stance, not to offend him.

“I was saying he needed to make up his mind. Either you criticize and stand your ground, or you say nothing. He said he was not happy with the payment. Three days later, he backed down and said he was misunderstood. Now he’s talking about it again”, he explained. “My goal was not to make fun of him, but to say that he needs to make up his mind. The only way the pay will get better is if the guys at the top and the champions start talking. But they need to stand their ground, not change their minds all the time.”
