Amidst provocations and a lot of uncertainty, Dana White tried to put an end to the discussion about the future of Conor McGregor. Speaking to journalists after the first episode of 'Contender Series', the Ultimate president said that he spoke with the Irishman the day before and assured that the duel with Michael chandler will happen.

“I spoke to Conor (McGregor), it was yesterday or the day before, and yes, he is ready to fight. I said, 'Listen, get in shape and let's figure this out.' Yes yes, he will fight Chandler. Conor will put his fingers on Twitter every weekend every time there's a fight and will insert himself into the conversation, but I'm not really that worried about it. I believe the fight will happen. The fight makes too much sense for it not to happen.”, said Dana.
Absent from the octagon since July 2021, when he suffered a serious injury in the trilogy against Dustin poirier, Conor continues with his irregular status with USADA (National Anti-Doping Agency). To be able to return to the UFC, the Irishman needs to undergo at least six months of tests and prove that he is clean.
