Last Saturday (14), at UFC 174, Brendan Schaub was responsible for receiving Andrei Arlovski on his return to Ultimate after six years. After three rounds of a heated fight, the Belarusian was named the winner in a split decision by the judges, which generated a certain protest from the North American.

As soon as the decision was made official, Schaub did not hide his displeasure. Then, in your Twitter, complained in a more measured way, saying that “everyone knew who the real winner was” of the fight. The complaints, however, were not shared by UFC president, Dana White, who, when commenting on the controversy, preferred to criticize the performance of the two fighters.

PUBLICITY:

“I think everyone agrees that the fight sucked. The fans lost in that fight. For those who think Schaub was robbed, the first two rounds could have gone either way. Schaub thinking he was stolen is an absolute comedy. Schaub looked like he had been hit with a baseball bat. We are the ones who were robbed”, said the leader, in an interview with the North American broadcaster “FOX Sports”.

Furthermore, White stated that there was a planning error regarding the positioning of the fight in the attraction. “That fight should never have been on the main card. It should have happened on the preliminary card,” he pointed out.

The occasion marked Schaub's first defeat since April 2012 – since then, he had beaten Lavar Johnson and Matt Mitrione. Arlovski hasn't lost since March 2013, when he was defeated by another fighter who recently returned to the UFC, Anthony Johnson. In Ultimate, his last defeat was in July 2006, to his arch-rival Tim Sylvia. Before his departure from the organization, he had beaten Brazilians Márcio “Pé de Pano” Cruz and Fabricio Werdum, as well as Jake O'Brien.
