With an eye on a possible future fight against Anderson Silva, Nick Diaz gave advice in the form of a provocation to the Brazilian fighter. According to the controversial North American, the former UFC champion should hire a new boxing coach to “learn how to throw punches”, based on what he saw in the Brazilian's fight against Chris Weidman, last December.
“I'll tell you what: I think he should fire his trainer and hire a boxing coach to teach him how to throw punches. I don't want to talk nonsense. A lot of people say he should retire, that he will no longer be the same, but I think he should hire someone who will improve his punches”, analyzed Diaz, in an interview with the YouTube channel “FightHub”.
Diaz believes Anderson's disability with his hands was a major factor in his leg injury. “In his last fight, he had to throw punches [at Weidman], but he couldn't. That was fundamental. So, he tried to get out by distributing kicks and we saw what happened to his leg”, he continued.
Diaz hasn't fought since March last year, but is considered by Anderson's staff as a potential opponent for the Brazilian’s return to the Octagon.
