After 14 months, Gustavo Coelho returned to MMA in style. The fighter, who had fractured his leg in a fight when attempting a low kick – an injury similar to the one he Anderson Silva suffered – in March 2013, he showed that the injury did not hinder his return to competition. In action in the main fight of Brasil Fight 360º, an event held last Friday night (06), in Belo Horizonte, Coelho showed good striking to beat Lenadro Sete-Bala by technical knockout in the second round.

As soon as the fight started, Gustavo Coelho showed that the long layoff didn't make any difference. He closed the distance, landed a few punches and managed to take the fight to the ground. A jiu-jitsu specialist, he was close to getting a choke, but it was well defended.

In the second round, however, Gustavo managed to win. He came back better in his striking and landed the best blows. On the ground, Coelho tried to submit with a katagatame, but to no avail. Still in the ground fight, after arriving in mount, the fighter from Minas Gerais landed several punches from above until the referee declared a technical knockout.

Unusual fact on the preliminary card

PUBLICITY:

On the preliminary card of the event, one attitude caught attention. In the third fight of the program, Wanderson Michel tried to submit Edipo Pow, who managed to free himself from the ground fight, got up and went on the attack. After landing a punch straight to his rival's face, Pow tried a kick when Michel was still on the ground and the referee interrupted the dispute.

Wanderson Michel needed medical attention even though the shot didn't hit home. After authorization from the doctors, the fight would return with the central referee deducting one point from Oedipus for the illegal blow. At this point, Pow, who was fighting with the crowd against, gave up the fight because he believed that his blow could have injured his opponent.
