After leaving the Team Tavares, Bahian Kevin Souza moved to the CM System team, led by former fighter Cristiano Marcello, and based in Curitiba (PR). Last weekend, at the TUF Brasil 3 Final in São Paulo (SP), Kevin knocked out Mark Eddiva in his first fight under the new team. The performance pleased Cristiano, who spared no praise for the featherweight, in an exclusive interview with SUPER FIGHTS.

"It was perfect. He showed ground, wrestling and boxing, which is his roots. It was perfect. I don't think there's anything to talk about Kevin's fight. He showed that he has a heavy hand, he showed that he has good wrestling and ground game. He’s coming to bother this gym (up to 66 kg)”, said Marcello, who also stated that his vocation for training comes from the times when he worked professionally. “Since the time of Chute Boxe, it was for eight years that I helped Wanderlei (Silva) to be what he was. Also Shogun, Ninja and Anderson (Silva) himself, who trained with me for a long time. So, I always had this technical thing,” he analyzed.

With participation in the 15th season of The Ultimate Fighter and stints at Meca, UFC and PRIDE, Cristiano Marcello continues to be remembered for the episode involving fighter Charles “Krazy Horse” Bennett, in which he “erased” the North American after a fight backstage at the now defunct Japanese event, and he did not shy away from also comment on the story. “Today it no longer fits, but it is part of history. It was a man-to-man move, but today I condemn it. At the time I also condemned it, but it was a defense thing. So, it happened, but I wish him all the best. Long live Krazy Horse!” he concluded.
