Taken from the biggest fight of his MMA career, Umar Nurmagomedov justified his absence in the challenge against Cory Sandhagen in the UFC. The Russian, who would be the protagonist of the show alongside the North American, released images of the injury suffered in a training session at AKA (American Kickboxing Academy). In August, the cousin of Khabib Nurmagomedov would have the chance to get closer to the dream of a bantamweight belt fight (up to 61,2kg).

In the images (see below) published by 'Spinnin Backfist', at the Twitter, it is possible to see the exact moment in which Umar reports the shoulder injury. Immediately after the incident, the fighter stops the training session.

According to 'MMA Junkie', the UFC is looking for a replacement for the company's promise.

Undefeated in professional MMA, with 16 consecutive victories, Nurmagomedov is considered a bet for the future of the bantamweight division. A representative of Ultimate since 2021, the Russian has accumulated four positive results in a row, having beaten three of his rivals in the fast lane.

Today, Umar, 27 years old, occupies 11th position in the ranking led by aljamain sterling. Against Sandhagen, former challenger for the interim belt, the cousin could jump to fourth place, in case of another triumph in the division.
