Warlley Alves 'erases' Lyoto and wins TUF Brasil 3 middleweight title

Minas Gerais based in Rio has a great performance with his friend in the octagon and managed to submit him in the third round

Highlight of the third edition of TUF Brasil in a season marked by a high technical level, Warlley alves is the new champion of the reality show in the middleweight category. Even facing his friend and roommate on the program Márcio Lyoto, Warlley didn't ease up, he performed in an almost impeccable way and “erased” the Santa Catarina native with a submission in the third round at the TUF Brasil 3 Final, this Saturday (31), in São Paulo (SP).

The first TUF decision started in full swing. Right at the beginning of the fight, Warlley well absorbed a high kick from Lyoto and got a knockdown in the counterattack. The X-Gym athlete even tried some plastic blows, which didn't reach his opponent. In the final stretch of the first round, they returned to the stand-up fight and went to the cage, where they remained practically until the end of the round.

In the second round, what we saw again was Warlley's dominance. The Rio de Janeiro-based Minas Gerais native managed to get a good takedown on Lyoto and, with his opponent on the ground, gave him a very hard downward kick. Visibly tired, Márcio Alexandre once again used the struggle holding onto the railing to rest.

In the third round, Warlley alves He set out to put an end to the fight and managed it just 25 seconds into the final. Warlley got a new knockdown and, with his opponent on the ground, he went for a very fair guillotine, which ended up “erasing” Márcio Lyoto. With the triumph, Warlley won the TUF Brasil 3 title and secured a contract with the UFC.

Fighting at home, Demian Maia overcomes Russian and interrupts negative streak

After suffering two consecutive defeats for the first time in his career, the São Paulo native Demian Maia recovered from the troubled moment and, playing at home, beat the Russian Alexander Yakovlev in the judges' decision. The Brazilian, famous for his high-level jiu-jitsu, performed well in striking and paved the way for victory in the stand-up fight.

In the first round, Demian Maia surprised Yakovlev with a solid stand-up game, even getting a knockdown on his opponent. Playing on top on the ground, the Brazilian applied hard elbows to the Russian and secured the advantage in the partial. In the second round, despite starting well, Maia found himself in a complicated situation in the final stretch, when Alexander reversed his position on the ground and came close to finishing him.

In the third and decisive round, the Brazilian took a while to find himself in the octagon, but managed to mount his rival in the final minutes and left a good impression on the judges. After fifteen minutes, Demian was declared the winner by unanimous decision from the judges, who scored 30-27 in favor of the home athlete.

In a busy fight, Jason loses to Peralta in a split decision

the fight between Ron Jason and Robbie Peralta may have excited the audience present at the Ibirapuera Gymnasium during the fifteen minutes of action, but he certainly left the Ceará native and the fans disappointed after its outcome. After a confrontation marked by striking, Jason ended up defeated by a split decision from the judges and did not hide his frustration after the results were announced.

Throughout the fight, it was Jason who delivered the most forceful blows, especially to his opponent's head. In turn, Peralta walked further forward, moved well and managed some providential takedowns during the fight. At the beginning of the third round, Jason ended up attacking before the referee's authorization and received a warning. The action, however, was not misinterpreted by his opponent, who even hugged him after the incident. However, moments later, Robbie didn't take kindly to an accidental jab from Jason, which left the American out of action for almost two minutes.

At the end of regulation time, Peralta was declared the winner by split decision, with two referees scoring 29-28 in his favor and another awarding Jason the advantage 30-27. With the result, Rony now has two defeats in his last three fights. In his career, the TUF Brasil 1 champion has a record of 14 wins and five losses.
