Shortly after Jake Shields' injury, the World Series of Fighting has already found a new opponent for Jon Fitch. And it will be an old acquaintance. On July 5th, Fitch will make the trilogy against Josh Burkman in what will be the second most important fight of WSOF 11, which does not yet have an official location.

Initially, Fitch would face Rousimar Toquinho for the organization's welterweight title. However, the Brazilian had to withdraw from the fight due to his mother's illness, and another former UFC fighter, Jake Shields, would be his replacement.

Burkman and Fitch have faced each other twice, with one victory each. In 2006, Fitch won via submission, and last year, Burkman got the win using the same method.

The main fight of the WSOF will be the lightweight belt dispute between the champion, Justin gaethje, and the challenger, Nick Newell. Another confirmed fight is between Brazilian Gesias Cavalcante, who faces the recently fired UFC fighter Melvin Guillard.
