Recently, the former middleweight champion Anderson Silva, now 39 years old, stated that he did not know if “I would have trouble fulfilling the remainder of my contract with the UFC”, which is eight more fights. The words did not please UFC president Dana White, who said he understands if Anderson no longer wants to fight, but warned him that to continue in MMA requires total dedication.

"Anderson Silva He is a unique person to deal with. He already said he would never fight against Chael Sonnen again, and ended up fighting. If he said that he might not fulfill his contract if he doesn't feel like fighting, that's his personal decision. But, if he wants to be in this business, in MMA, he better want to fight”, said the manager in an interview with the program “FOX Sports Live”, on North American cable TV.
In the UFC since 2006, Anderson Silva has a record of 16 wins and just two losses in the organization. Spider holds the record for consecutive title defenses in Ultimate, with ten victories over challengers. In July last year, Anderson lost the title in the under-84 kg category to Chris Weidman and in December of the same year he was defeated again by the North American. In the rematch, Spider fractured his left leg, an injury from which he has now completely recovered, and has not played since.
