Rani Yahya is injured and left out of a fight against Johnny Bedford

Rani Yaya suffered an injury and will not be able to participate in UFC Fight Night 44, which will be held on June 28 in San Antonio, in the US state of Texas.

The Brazilian would have his second fight against Johnny Bedford, against whom he had a controversial moment in April, at UFC Fight Night 39. On that occasion, the North American landed a headbutt that knocked out the Brazilian, which made the fight end in no-contest. Outraged, Bedford complained about the situation, which led to the shoot being scheduled almost immediately.

Yahya's replacement will be Cody Gibson, who will make his second fight in Ultimate. In February, he lost to aljamain sterling in the judges' decision. Bedford, in turn, will try for his first victory since December 2012, when he beat former TUF Brazil star Marcos Vinícius Vina. Since then, Bedford has been completed by Bryan caraway and then suffered the no-contest against Yahya.

The main fight of UFC Fight Night 44 will be between the featherweights Cub swanson e Jeremy Stephens. So far, six Brazilians have been confirmed for the event. Cezar Mutant faces Andrew Craig, Hacran Dias faces Ricardo Lamas, Antonio Braga Neto take Clint Hester, Carlos Diego Ferreira faces Colton Smith, Luiz Besouro catches Sean Spencer and Marcelo Guimarães measures forces with Andy Enz.
