Brazilian Fabrício Morango will have a tough challenge ahead of him as he tries to end his run of two defeats in the Octagon. The Ultimate organization announced that Fabrício will face the North American Gray Maynard, former lightweight title challenger, at UFC 176, on August 2nd.
Coincidentally, despite his vast history in the category, Maynard is also coming off two consecutive defeats in Ultimate. Therefore, the duel can be considered life or death for both athletes. In his career, Fabrício Camões has a record of 14 wins, eight losses and one draw. Already Gray Maynard has a record of eleven wins, three defeats, one defeat and one draw.
UFC 176 takes place on August 2nd, at Staples Center, in Los Angeles (USA). In the main fight of the night, the featherweight champion José Aldo puts his belt on the line again against the American Chad Mendes. Furthermore, the other two fights already announced for the event also feature Brazilian athletes: Jussier formiga x Zach Makovsky, between bantamweights, and Beth Pitbull x Shayna Baszler, in a match valid for the women's bantamweight category.
