St. Pierre names Hughes as the best in the world

Canadian Georges St Pierre, in an interview with the newspaper “The Sun”, pointed out Matt hugs, his opponent at UFC-79 in a fight valid for the interim welterweight title, as the best in the world in his category.
“I will fight the best welterweight in the world”, he said, “He is in better shape than ever, he is better than he has ever been and I sincerely believe that this will not be the last time he will be at the top nor the last time we will face each other”, he added, recalling the two previous clashes between them, with one victory each.

His last fight against Hughes earned him the title of the category and status as the best in the world, but in his first title defense he ended up defeated by Matt Serra.

“I made a mistake against Serra”, he confessed, “I let my personal life enter into my work, and it was the first and last time that this will happen, I can guarantee that it will never happen again”.

For the confrontation against Hughes, St. Pierre has his strategy mapped out.

“I have a plan A, a plan B and a plan C for this fight”, he explained, “That's how I always approach my fights, but if you play cards, you shouldn't show your hand, so I'm not going to talk about my game plan. I have never been so prepared for a fight, and as soon as I get through this one I would like to have my revenge against Matt Serra.”
