Brazilian 'Hannibal' drops to welterweight and faces Neil Magny in New Zealand

After debuting as a middleweight in Ultimate with a victory over Brad Scott in March this year, Brazilian Cláudio “Hannibal” decided to move down to the welterweight category. The Mato Grosso native based in England will have his first fight in the new division against the North American Neil Magny. The fight will take place at UFC Fight Night 43, which takes place on June 28, in New Zealand.

At 31 years old, Cláudio Henrique da Silva has a record of ten wins and just one defeat. The Brazilian only lost in his first fight as a professional, in 2007, and since then he has only won. Your opponent in the event at Oceani, Neil Magny, has a record of ten wins and three defeats. The North American is coming off a victory over his compatriot Tim means, at UFC in Cincinnati, last Saturday (10).

UFC Fight Night 43 takes place on June 28th, at Vector Arena, in Auckland. The event will be the first in Ultimate history to be held in New Zealand. In the main fight of the night, local athlete James Te-Huna makes his middleweight debut against Nate Marquardt, who is back in the 84 kg category after a season as a welterweight.
