Rogério Minotouro e Anthony Johnson will face each other at UFC on FOX 12, an event that will take place in the city of San Jose, in the US state of California, on July 26th.
To date, this is the only fight officially confirmed for the event. Johnson, 30 years old, returned to the UFC in April after two years, having won Phil Davis in the unanimous decision of the judges. The result saw the North American jump to fifth place in the Ultimate light heavyweight rankings.
Minotouro has been inactive since February 2013, when he Rashad evans. Since then, the Brazilian has been announced in some fights, but was forced to withdraw due to a back injury. In a recent interview with SUPER FIGHTS, Minotouro projected a return to the UFC precisely at the beginning of the second half of the year, although he still had a long way to go towards his full physical recovery.
Minotouro reached fifth place in the UFC rankings, but was removed from the list due to a long period of inactivity. In his last fights, the Brazilian beat Tito Ortiz e Rashad evans, with his last defeat being in 2011, to Phil Davis.
