Apparently, a superfight between the UFC light heavyweight and heavyweight champions, Jon Jones e Cain Velazquez, it won’t be getting off the ground anytime soon. After Jones recently discard the fight, this time it was Dana White, the president of the UFC, who minimized the chances of it happening.

According to the manager, Jones still has some challenges ahead of him before thinking about moving up a category. Additionally, White believes “Bones” still needs to fight at light heavyweight for as long as his body allows.

"Jon Jones there's [Alexander] Gustafsson, possibly [Daniel] Cormier, if he wins the fight [against Dan Henderson]. He still has a few guys to go. Another thing is that Jon Jones is 26 years old. The older he gets, the harder it will be for him to make the 93kg weight, which will likely force him to move up to heavyweight. It's not yet time to have the superfight between Cain and Jon Jones”, said White, at a press conference.

Velasquez already has his next title defense defined. It will take place on November 15th, in Mexico City, in the main fight of UFC 180.
