The UFC released a video in which Chael Sonnen gives more details about his experience in Brazil for the recording of the reality show The Ultimate Fighter Brasil 3. In it, the North American fighter praised São Paulo's gastronomy, but seemed uncomfortable with two things: the price of the bill at the restaurant he went to, in addition to the strong heat of the city.
Sonnen stated that he paid an exorbitant price at a pizzeria. “I went to a pizzeria, a regular pizzeria, like the others. Four people went and the bill was US$300. In the United States, with US$300 worth of pizza, you can feed an entire children's baseball team”, he compared. “You hear about poverty in Brazil – well, there wasn't any poverty in this pizza restaurant”, added the fighter, who also praised the food.

The weather factor also impressed Sonnen. “When I arrived here, I had to go through an adaptation stage and I know that I will go through abstinence when I leave Brazil. The weather was the first thing that caught me off guard when I arrived. It's so hot! 40th in Maui [Hawaii] and 40th in São Paulo are not the same thing. It's a different heat. I don’t know how to explain it, but it’s completely different”, said the North American, who, however, showed that he enjoyed his experience in Brazil. “I'm having so much fun and I know that when I go home I'm going to miss a lot of things, and I know that for some nights I'm going to crave the food here.”
