The defeat suffered by Jon Jones at UFC 172, last Saturday (26), it didn't cost Glover Teixeira just the chance to become UFC champion. With the defeat, the Brazilian also lost a position in the official light heavyweight rankings, being surpassed by Rashad evans.
As a result, Teixeira is third on the list, behind Alexander Gustafson, the first, and by Evans. Daniel Cormier continues as the fourth. Jones remained at the top of the weight-for-pound rankings, ahead of the other Brazilian UFC champions, José Aldo, the second, and Renan Barao, the third.
Another major highlight of the ranking was the leap achieved by Anthony Johnson. “Rumble”, as he is known, returned to the UFC after more than two years in a fight against the favorite Phil Davis. After a dominant performance, Johnson gained nine positions, moving into fifth place. Davis, in turn, lost three places and fell to seventh, behind Dan Henderson.
In the female cock category, Bethe Correia moved up two positions with her victory over Jessamyn Duke, on the preliminary card of UFC 172. The fighter is in tenth place, just behind her fellow Brazilians Amanda nunes e Jessica Andrade.
