The first official event of the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Confederation (CBJJE) in Argentina, Mercosul, held in Buenos Aires, on May 2nd, saw Brazilian fighters dominate in the absolutes. With the participation of 355 athletes and the mass presence of the public, who filled the stands, Mário Sukata's team was the great champion.
Among the highlights of the competition, Marcos Willian (Tozzi) won the absolute black belt while Caio Magalhães (Nova União) was the best in the brown belt absolute. In the senior black category, Guilherme Ximenes (Brazilian Fight) also performed well and took the gold. Among the Argentine fighters, Luciano Correa (Luciano Correa) showed good jiu-jitsu and secured the title in the lightweight adult brown belt category.
“This was our first championship in Argentina, a country that doesn't usually hold jiu-jitsu events, and we will improve in the next editions. In the next one, among other measures, we will bring in more Brazilian referees. The first step has been taken and I am satisfied, knowing that in the future it will be even better”, said the president of CBJJE, Moises Muradi.
The next CBJJE competition will be the Brazilian Championship, which takes place from May 22nd to 24th. Registration is now open. More information on the website www.cbjje.com.br
