Former UFC “darling”, Clay guida is going through a delicate moment in his career. In his last four fights, he suffered three defeats (including the first knockout suffered) and won only one victory, against Hatsu Hioki, by split decision. Even so, the fighter continues to have high confidence.

“When we started to doubt ourselves, it was time to hang up the gloves. It’s more a matter of knowing what I need to do differently and what skills I need to develop”, he assessed, in an interview with the website of the North American broadcaster “FOX Sports”.

Next Friday (11), Guida will face Tatsuya Kawajiri in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 39, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. According to the North American, Kawajiri's performance against Sean Soriano, in January, showed the big weakness in the Japanese player’s game. “If he hadn't finished Soriano, maybe he would have thrown in the towel. It looked like he had finished running a marathon, but it was only five minutes. I don't know if he could last two more minutes. If he thinks Soriano was a warm-up, wait. He might have a heart attack when I go after him,” he promised.
