“I was in a lot of street fights when I was younger. I've had more fights on the street than fights in the cage. I remember that when I got into fights, they never lasted five, ten, 15, 25 minutes. Fights were resolved in two or three minutes. A real fight without gloves is resolved very quickly. It reminded me of when I was young and made me super excited again. Everything about it is different, so it gets me excited. I’ve been fighting MMA since I was 19, it’s been two decades of MMA, so it’s fun to get into something new,” said the former champion.

Escalated to face Chad Mendes In his debut at BKFC, Alvarez showed that he was very happy with the choice of his opponent and praised his rival.

PUBLICITY:

“Chad is a crazy and very good opponent, he has faced world champion after world champion and has only lost to world class fighters. Chad is a dog. He’s a new element, a new sport, against a worthy opponent, so I’m very excited,” he declared.

Despite the praise, Alvarez did not hesitate in guaranteeing that he will knock out Chad Mendes at BKFC 41.

PUBLICITY:

“I'm going to knock you out Chad Mendes. There is no doubt in my mind. This isn't MMA, where I have to worry about a takedown, I have to keep moving and doing all those things because I'm worried about kicks and takedowns. I'm going to put everything into every strike I throw. If I put everything I have into one strike with my bare hand, there isn't a single man on this card who can take it. No man,” he finished.
