About to face the biggest challenge of his career, the black belt Thales leites demonstrates confidence and calmness to face Anderson Silva, for the Ultimate middleweight title, at UFC-97, April 18th.
The Nova União athlete says he has been waiting for this opportunity for a long time and trusts in his jiu-jitsu to beat the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world.
“It’s the fight of my life, everything I’ve been waiting for for a long time. Since the beginning of my career, when I started training MMA, I thought about this day. I have all my training in jiu-jitsu, I think there is my big chance in this field, but anything can happen”, said Thales, who still remembered the feat achieved with Gabriel Napao against Mirko Crocop.
“When (Gabriel) Gonzaga fought (Mirko) Cro Cop, no one expected that he could knock out. I'm not saying it will happen to me that way, but no one knows. I’m ready to fight on my feet, I’ll be there to fight in any situation,” he concluded.
