After defeating the Brazilian Jessica Stacker categorically in the UFC Las Vegas 69, which took place last Saturday (18), the North American Erin Blanchfield has already turned her attention to the flyweight champion (up to 56,7kg) Valentina Shevchenko. In an interview with 'MMA Junkie', the North American prospect revealed that she has studied the veteran's game for many years and said that she will walk away with the belt if she shares the octagon with the Kyrgyzstani.

“I think against Valentina Shevchenko, I will use the style with which I beat everyone. Everyone kind of underestimates me a little bit just because of my age and because I don't have that many fights in the UFC. I know I can win these fights. I feel like I've studied it for years. I've been watching her since I was in high school. I know that when I get there, we will have a good game plan and this belt will be mine,” said Blanchfield.
Even though she is confident of beating the champion, Erin showed respect for the veteran's trajectory and recognized that she will have to beat her twice to be respected as the rightful owner of the belt.
“I think winning a match against Valentina Shevchenko, it will be huge for my career. It will be a very special moment, as it was when Conor McGregor e Amanda nunes lost their fights. Everyone freaked out. I know they're going to say something like, 'You're going to fight her and then fight her again and prove it again.' I’m excited about this opportunity,” said the American.
With the submission victory over Bate-Estaca, Erin jumped seven positions in the strawweight rankings and is now in third place. Still undefeated wearing Ultimate gloves, Blanchfield has a record of 11 triumphs and just one setback as an MMA professional.
