Tito Ortiz remains determined to make his return to MMA fights. The former UFC champion, who has not played since 2012, says he has recovered from his most recent injury and hopes to be called up by Bellator to fight soon.

Ortiz would face another former UFC champion, Quinton Rampage Jackson, in November last year, in what would be Bellator's first event in pay-per-view in the United States. However, the fighter suffered a serious neck fracture, which has kept him out of action ever since.

Now back in training, Ortiz showed interest in returning to fights soon. “Everything is going well. I am approximately in my ninth week of training. I'm kind of on standby right now, waiting for Bellator to give me a fight. I thought I would be at this event in pay-per-view that there will be, but they wanted to wait”, said Ortiz, in an interview with the “Knockout Radio” podcast.

Ortiz's moment in MMA is not positive. In his last nine fights, he won just one victory, also having one draw and seven defeats. Precisely for this reason, the “Bad Boy from Huntington Beach” wants to leave a good impression in his next fight. “After my last defeat to Forrest griffin, I had a bad taste in my mouth. Nobody wants to retire after a defeat. When Bellator calls me, I'm ready. Whoever it is against, I don’t care,” he added.
