apparently, Jamahal hill don't think about facing Alex Poatán in a near future. Light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg.), the North American suggested that the Brazilian 'focus his attention' on the rematch against Israel adesanya before thinking about facing him. He also says that, if the Nigerian doesn't give so many gaps, he has the game to regain the middleweight belt (up to 83,9kg).
“I think he should really focus on Izzy (Israel adesanya) because he was getting a good beating before he won. Some things happened for him, like the leg injury (from kicking Adesanya) at the end. I think if Izzy just throws up his hands and fights him, being quick – and I'll send a message here – he'll win," Hill told 'The Schmo'.

The rivalry between Poatan and Hill began to be treated as reality after the North American's victory over the 'mentor' Glover Teixeira for the light heavyweight belt (up to 93kg.). With that, still in the Octagon, the Minas Gerais native announced his retirement and left the possibility for his pupil to avenge him. The middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg) promptly signaled a positive sign for the possibility.
What could have been a real hypothesis, however, was overturned with the announcement by Dana White, president of the UFC, for a rematch between Poatan and Adesanya for edition number 287, which takes place on April 8. At the first opportunity, the Brazilian suffered, but managed to dethrone the Nigerian with a knockout in the fifth round.
