Reneé Forte decides not to try to make weight again, but is confirmed for UFC 171

After being above the lightweight category limit at the official UFC 171 weigh-in, on Friday night (14) the Brazilian Reneé Forte chose not to try to reach 70,3 kg. Thus, Reneé loses 20% of her purse, the amount will go to her opponent Francisco Trevino, who agreed to fight even though the Brazilian had missed weight. The information was released by Twitter UFC official.

The duel between Reneé and Trevino is the fourth fight on the UFC 171 preliminary card, which takes place this Saturday (15), in Dallas (USA). In addition to Forte, two other fighters also did not reach the weight limit for their categories at the official weigh-in: Kelvin Gastelum e John hendricks, who hoped to confirm the dispute against Robbie Lawler for the vacant welterweight belt.

At 26, Reneé Forte has a record of eight wins and three losses. Ceará participated in the first season of the The Ultimate Fighter Brazil as middleweight, but ended up eliminated in the quarterfinals by Daniel sarafian. After the end of TUF, Reneé fought as a welterweight against Serginho Moraes and then moved down to lightweight, a category in which he had two fights – with a victory over Terry emo and a defeat for John makdessi.
