Escalated to face Kamaru Usman on March 18th, in front of his nation, Leon edwards presents a confident and fearless appearance. In his first title defense, 'Rocky' is sure that the former champion of the category will succumb to pressure from the English. To the 'The MMA Hour', the athlete cited his history to explain why he was completely safe.
“It’s going to be a totally different atmosphere than he thinks. I think this is the first time he's actually come into someone's territory. I fought my whole career in other people's country. I'm used to it. Let's see how he reacts. It will be a difficult task for him. And one more point, I never lost in England, amateur or professional. I never lost a fight in England. For Usman to come to the UK, on my main show in London, for the belt, I just can't see him beating me. As an amateur, I went 10-0 in England and then I was a professional until I got to the UFC”, said Edwards.
Winner after knocking out the Nigerian in his last fight, Leon appears as an underdog in the bookmakers. In a series of 11 matches without defeat, the Englishman will seek to maintain the excellent moment in his career.
On March 18th, the English capital will be the stage for the trilogy between the athletes. With a victory for each side, Leon and Kamaru will be the protagonists of the UFC 286.
