On the way to its tenth edition, Gringo Super Fight made a point of celebrating the milestone and, as a bonus, had a big surprise in store for true MMA lovers. The show features as its main attraction the rematch between the Brazilian Cyborg Evangelist and Dutchman Melvin Manhoef. The first duel between the two took place at Cage Rage 15, held in England in February 2006. On that occasion, Manhoef got the better of him and won by knockout in the second round after an electrifying fight.
Almost eight years after the historic battle in Europe, the two, who are great references in stand-up fighting, remain prestigious on the international MMA scene. While Cyborg has a record of 19 victories, 12 of which were by knockout, Manhoef has a career marked by 27 victories and an impressive 25 knockouts.
President of the organization, Antônio Tolentino, the Gringo, was excited about the confirmation of the rematch between Cyborg Evangelist and Melvin Manhoef. “My expectations are the best possible. It's a fight that the whole world wants to watch. I followed their training and they are very focused and well prepared to put on a striking show. It’s going to be a spectacle,” he said.
