The speech adopted by Dana White when announcing the dismissal of Francis Ngannou of the UFC roster doesn't seem to have gone down very well with some fighters. After Cris Cyborg takes a stand mocking the president of Ultimate, it was Eddie Alvarez's turn to harshly criticize the organization.

Former UFC lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg), Alvarez mocked the narrative used by Dana White that Francis Ngannou I would have found it more interesting to face lower level opponents outside of the UFC.

“The UFC simply lost the bid for Francis and instead of admitting it, they continued with the narrative that the scariest guy alive is scared of fighting in the UFC hahahahahaha it has to be a joke,” the fighter wrote on social media.

On another social network, Eddie Alvarez went deeper into his criticisms, assured that no fighter on the UFC roster is afraid to face anyone and stated that Ultimate is afraid of paying its fighters better.

“No one in the UFC is 'afraid' of anyone. The men who fight there are there to face the best. The UFC is afraid to pay fighters and that's the only reason people leave. Fighters don't care who their next opponent is, they just care what the next payout will be. Keep it real and admit that they missed the proposal. Someone offered more and it ended like this”, said Alvarez.

Currently free on the market after a stint of just over two years at ONE Championship, Alvarez gave his opinion on why the UFC doesn't pay its athletes better.

PUBLICITY:

“It is counterintuitive to pay athletes large scholarships because they become less cooperative and more independent. Business works perfectly when everyone is broke and begging to fight for anything. Cooperation is the key. Big bags break businesses,” she concluded.
