After reaching the mark of five consecutive victories, Rachel Pennington placed the bantamweight champion (up to 61,2kg.), Amanda nunes, in your sights. Beaten by the Brazilian in 2018, the American claimed, in a press conference after beating Kleten Vieira, that the UFC can no longer avoid a second confrontation against the 'Lione'.
“I don’t feel like I should be denied (the rematch) anymore. A streak of five wins, how much longer are people going to keep denying me? I feel like respect needs to be placed on my behalf at this time. Obviously I have no control over this. I would love to fight for the world title before the end of the year. If that doesn't happen, my ultimate goal is to be number one in the world and then start 2024 properly. I’m ready to fight”, said Raquel.

“I want to stay active. I love challenges, and that's what it's all about. It doesn't matter if it's number one, it doesn't matter if it's number 20. As an athlete, we have a short time. So I want to fight, enjoy my passion, just go out there and have fun, and the opportunities will continue to present themselves. Obviously the ultimate goal is to get a chance at the world title. But if they don't want to do that, just give me someone who wants to get punched in the face,” concluded the fighter.
An employee of Ultimate since 2014, Pennington has 12 wins in the organization and five losses. Her latest setback was to the former bantamweight champion, Holly holm, UFC 246, in January of 2020.
