The Brazilian Demian Maia left the octagon defeated by Rory McDonald on the main card of UFC 170, an event held this Saturday night (22), in Las Vegas, in the United States. But not everything will be a reason for regret on the part of the athlete from São Paulo. The disputed fight, full of alternations, earned the athletes in the welterweight division the bonus for best fight of the night. They received US$50, approximately R$117,5.
With the elimination of knockout and submission bonuses, the UFC awarded the best athletes with the 'performances on show' prize. And those chosen at UFC 170 with the 'new' bonus were Ronda Rousey, women's bantamweight champion, and Stephen Thompson. Both won their fights by technical knockout in the first round and were awarded the same amount of US$50.
Ronda Rousey passed by Sara McMann with a knee to the liver in the most important fight of the night, while Stephen Thompson opened the main card by overcoming Robert whittaker with several blows to the ground.
