Former Bellator featherweight champion (up to 65,7kg), A. J. McKee admitted that he would like to star in the trilogy against Patrick Pitbull, but it won't go 'to the end of the world' for that reason. In an interview with MMA Junkie, 'Mercenário' said that a new duel against the Brazilian fighter would be interesting, but revealed that his focus is now on the lightweight tournament (up to 70,3kg), which will take place in the 2023 season.

“I have already put the offer on the table for Bellator with the Patricio pitbull. I told Patricio that I would love to fight him, but it's not something I want to pursue all the time. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn't happen, be patient. I would obviously love to fight him again. That would be ideal for his legacy, for my legacy,” McKee said.
The 'Mercenary' once again emphasized his interest in the trilogy against Pitbull but admitted that he is focused on the lightweight tournament and that he is feeling good in the new weight range.
“It’s a game: it’s 1-1. Everyone wants to see who is the best, especially for me, who is moving up the division. I'm not bothered. There is another title. There are other people. There is a new land for me to conquer and that is what I am happy about”, concluded AJ.
In his last fight, McKee defeated Brazilian Roberto Satoshi in the 'Bellator x Rizin' challenge, which took place on December 31st. The North American has a record in the sport of 20 triumphs and just one setback.
