Bellator executive director Bjorn Rebney continues to look forward to seeing the former UFC champion Tito Ortiz work in your organization. The fighter was scheduled to make his debut against another former UFC belt holder, Quinton Rampage Jackson, but was forced to withdraw from the fight due to an old problem: a neck injury.

Rebney stated that he remains in contact with the fighter and will only select him to fight if he is fully recovered. “I have been having a good number of conversations with Tito. The neck injury was disturbing, but that is behind me. The fracture was disturbing because of potential paralysis if the worst-case scenario occurred. We are doing several exhaustive tests to see if he is okay, because we want to be 100% sure,” said Rebney, according to the North American website “MMA Fighting”.

The manager highlighted the need for caution precisely because of the seriousness of Ortiz's injury. “It's one thing for a fighter to come back from a knee or shoulder injury, but when it comes to the neck or head, it's better to be cautious than to rush things and have something happen. We need to be very careful,” he highlighted.

the last fight of Tito Ortiz, still in the UFC, was in July 2012, when he was defeated by Forrest griffin. In his nine most recent performances, Ortiz has a negative record, with one win, one draw and seven defeats.
