With a controversial result, AJ McKee defeats Roberto Satoshi in the main fight of the 'Bellator x Rizin' challenge

An incredible fight closed the show 'Bellator x Rizin', held this Saturday (31). In a controversial decision by the judges, the North American A. J. McKee defeated Brazilian Roberto Satoshi and declared '100% success' for the organization chaired by Scott Coker, who won all the fights on the main card. The show was held at the legendary Saitama Super Arena in Japan (JAP)

With the controversial triumph, McKee adds to his second consecutive victory and continues with only the defeat in the rematch against Patricio pitbull 'tarnishing' your cartel. The North American has 19 positive results and only one negative result as a sports professional.

Despite his good performance, Roberto Satoshi was defeated again after just over three years, but remains Rizin's lightweight champion. The Brazilian based in Japan has a record of 14 triumphs and only two setbacks as a mixed martial arts professional.

The fight

In the first few seconds, McKee landed two high kicks that ended up in Satoshi's guard. The Brazilian tried to take him down, but McKee did the sprawl well and landed on top, in the guard of the Rizin champion. AJ used ground and pound to punish Roberto, who defended himself and constantly tried to grab the American's arm to get a submission. Close to the ropes, McKee remained on top of the Brazilian and used his elbows intensely, while Satoshi just tried to slow down the former Bellator champion's momentum. With a very active guard, Satoshi tried to create a triangle, but AJ managed to survive.

Even from below and being punished with punches and elbows, Satoshi looked dangerous with several submission attempts and showed the North American that he was not yet dead in the fight.

The two fighters ended the second half exchanging high kicks in the center of the ring and began a surprising frank exchange. Halfway through the round, Satoshi stuck to McKee and went after his rival, raising the audience at the Saitama Super Arena. AJ fought to survive, while Roberto seemed close to getting the rear naked choke. McKee managed to get up and made the transition, getting on top of the Brazilian and starting to punish him with ground and pound. The North American provoked and called the Brazilian to stand.

The last round began with the two athletes exchanging blows in the center of the cage. McKee was trying to shorten and score and use jabs, when Satoshi got into his legs and tried for a takedown, but landed in an unfavorable position. Roberto insisted on the takedown and took the American down again, causing him to fall in an almost submission attempt, however, once again, AJ proved resilient. McKee exploded onto Satoshi and landed a cross that rocked the Brazilian. Another takedown attempt by Rizin's champion and this time, he managed to land on top of AJ. After almost leaving the ring, the two athletes returned to their original positions and Satoshi remained on top and then moved to the back, always actively, seeking the submission.

In the final minute, even with both fighters standing, Satoshi decided to try to lock in a rear naked choke and went all in on the North American. The 'Mercenary' tried to take him down to escape the position, but was unable to free himself from the pressure imposed by the Brazilian fighter. The gong sounded decreeing the end of the fight.
