Felipe Sertanejo There was no big celebration on his 26th birthday, on February 9th. Instead of having a party, the fighter remained focused on his training for the fight against Maximo Blanco, at UFC Fight Night 36, which will take place this Saturday (15).

Coming off a defeat to Kevin Souza in September last year, Sertanejo only thinks about celebrating in the event of a victory over the Venezuelan. “The people cut a cake and I ate a little piece so as not to insult my mother, but it didn't satisfy my desire. I'm a chocoholic, but I'm going to leave it until after the fight to celebrate the victory and the birthday together”, said Sertanejo, who has no problem fighting close to festive dates. “I fought a lot at the beginning of the year. I spend Christmas, New Year or birthday training. They didn’t do the commemorative dates for me, so I end up getting screwed, but I’m used to it”, he joked. “Victory is tastier when it comes like this.”

Sertanejo also celebrated the fact of performing in the same event as his friend Charles of the Bronx, who faces Andy Ogle on the night's main card. “Fighting with a friend is always good, because one helps the other make weight, exchanges ideas and gives energy”, he remembers. “Friends don't try to go over the top, they always want to help, and Charles is a golden boy, with a big heart, who makes everyone around him feel good. He has everything it takes to be one of the best fighters in the world, to win the belt. Even though we are in the same category, we support each other,” he praised.
