Rustam Khabilov hopes to return to the UFC facing former lightweight champion, Ben henderson.
The Russian from Dagestan was scheduled to face Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 170, on February 22, but was forced to withdraw from the fight after suffering a fractured finger on his hand. As it is a simpler injury, he hopes to be able to fight soon and hopes that Henderson accepts his challenge.
"I know that Ben henderson He's a great fighter and a lot of people don't like the idea of fighting him. I like his fights. I think it's a great fight for me and the fans. If we fight, I think we would put on a good show,” said Khabilov, in an interview with the North American website MMA Fighting.
The fighter hopes the fight will be scheduled for UFC 173, on May 24th. “I would accept fighting in March or April, but these months are full. But I'm ready. The date we have our eyes on would be UFC 173, in Las Vegas. That’s what we hope for if Benson accepts the fight.”
Khabilov, 27 years old, is undefeated in the UFC. In his three appearances, he hit Vinc Pichel, Yancy Medeiros and Jorge masvidal.
