Lucas Mineiro is injured and is out of UFC 170

The Brazilian was replaced by Cody Gibson at the event, which takes place on February 22nd

The bantamweight lucas mineiro suffered an injury and is out of UFC 170, less than two weeks before the event, which takes place on February 22nd. To replace Lucas, the Ultimate organization announced the newcomer Cody Gibson as a new opponent aljamain sterling. Sterling himself had already entered the card as a replacement, as Lucas Martins' original opponent would be Bryan caraway, who left the fight after getting injured.

This is the second change that the UFC 170 card has undergone just a few days before the event takes place. Last week, North American Francisco Rivera was injured and was forced to withdraw from his fight against Raphael Assunção, who remained without an opponent until the recent announcement that the Brazilian debutant Peter Munhoz would be his new opponent on fight night.

UFC 170 takes place on February 22nd, at Mandalay Bay, in Las Vegas (USA). In the main fight of the night, less than two months after her last title defense, the women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey puts his belt on the line against the challenger Sara McMann. In the co-main event, former Strikeforce heavyweight GP champion Daniel Cormier debut in light heavyweight against the former champion of the category in Ultimate Rashad evans.
