Shogun and Ninja leave Chute Boxe

The brothers Murilo Ninja and Mauricio Shogun today announced their official departure from the Chute Boxe team. Ninja had already said that he would leave Chute Boxe in 2008 to set up his own team in the United States, but he brought the decision forward. His brother Shogun, who recently stated that he would not leave the team, followed in Ninja's footsteps and left the Curitiba team. But contrary to what has been speculated, Shogun wants to set up a team in Curitiba.

“My brother left on Friday, I thought a lot, I even spoke to my mother about it. I can't stay on a team that my brother isn't on. He was the one who took me to fight and is my family. Our idea is to continue training in Curitiba. I don't want to go to America, I want to stay in Curitiba and I'm trying to convince my brother. I should open a gym here in January, as I'll start training again on January 10th because I'll fight in the UFC in March,” said Shogun.

Team leader, Rudimar Fedrigo commented on the athletes' decision on the team's official website. “We are very sorry to see Murilo and Mauricio Rua leave, they are fighters trained in the team and left to form their team in the USA. We remind you that the doors of Chute Boxe will always be open for both of you and we wish you good luck and success in your new venture”, said Rudimar.
