Last Thursday night (8), the fourteenth edition of the “World MMA Awards”, the “Oscar” of mixed martial arts, took place in Las Vegas, in the United States, an event that rewards the best of the year in the sport in different categories.
Former lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg), Charles of the Bronx took home the “Submission of the Year” award for his victory over Dustin poirier, UFC 269, when they defended the division title for the first time. As it took place in the final stretch of 2021, already in December, the fight was judged in the 2022 edition of the awards.
