Aldo is not the best pound-for-pound in the world because he doesn't finish fights, says White

UFC President Dana White doesn't believe José Aldo can be considered the best fighter pound for pound due to his recent fights decided by the judges.

Even though the Brazilian has dominated the featherweight category for four years, being undefeated after 17 fights, White stated that a fighter, to be considered the best, must be more capable of submitting or knocking out his opponents.

“What drives me crazy about José Aldo is that the boy has all the talent in the world. He is explosive, fast, can do everything, but he relaxes and doesn't let things flow”, said the manager, in an interview with the website of the North American broadcaster ESPN. “When you talk about being the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, you can't fight five rounds against guys who you look like you can beat in the second round. This is a habit that Aldo has.”

Since arriving at the UFC in 2011, Aldo has not needed the judges' decision on just two occasions: against Chad Mendes, with a knockout via a flying knee, and against Chan sung jung, when he won after his rival injured his shoulder.

It's funny that Dana White doesn't say anything about the Canadian darling with his mediocre fights, right?

Unfortunately I have to agree with the bald guy.
Aldo has been fighting with the rule in hand and avoiding exposing himself. It's not wrong, but it doesn't put on a show, which is what the event wants...

  3. I would like to see José Aldo finishing on the ground!
