UFC 169 has an audience of 14 thousand and revenue of R$4 million

With regard to gym occupancy and box office revenue, UFC 169, the first card in pay-per-view in 2014, it was a real success. The night of fights held this Saturday (01) at Prudential Center, in Newark (USA), received an audience of 14.308 people and raised US$1,65 million (around R$4 million) from ticket sales.

With the published values, the average price of tickets paid by the public present was US$115 (approximately R$277). Even though it was considered a sold-out event, the fight night was only the third most crowded in UFC history. Prudential Center, which has already received a total of five editions. The gymnasium record is still for the defense of the Georges St Pierre against Dan Hardy at UFC 111, which brought 17 thousand people to the sports venue.

In the main fight of UFC 169, Renan Barao defended his bantamweight belt for the first time by winning Urijah faber by technical knockout in the first round. In the co-main clash of the night, the champion José Aldo He beat Ricardo Lamas by unanimous decision of the judges and retained the featherweight title.
