If the future of José Aldo in the UFC it should really be the change from the featherweight division to the lightweight division, the same cannot be said about his teammate, Renan Barao. The native of Rio Grande do Norte, who defended the bantamweight belt for the first time at UFC 169, in front of Urijah faber, assures that he still doesn't think about taking over his friend's position.

When asked at the press conference if he could move up to the featherweight category if Aldo actually moved to lightweight, Barão ruled out the possibility at the current moment.

PUBLICITY:

“I still don’t think about moving up a category. There's a lot of firewood to chop here in Galos. I just became champion and I want to stay here for some time”, said Barão, who in addition to having made his first defense of the linear belt, has accumulated two more of the interim title in the category.
