The Ultimate organization works to ensure that the duel between middleweights Michael Bisping and Tim Kennedy will be announced for the TUF Nations 2 Finale event, scheduled for April 16th in Canada. The information was released on the website of the North American channel “FOX Sports”, a UFC partner in the United States. Furthermore, Bisping himself revealed, during an interview, that confirmation of the fight was conditional on his medical clearance after eye exams.
“I was cleared to fight by my doctor. He wrote a letter to the UFC, he authorized me 100%. The UFC very kindly offered me a fight against Tim Kennedy. It hasn't been signed yet and unfortunately for me the UFC wants me to do some more tests. They don't want anything going wrong with my eye. So I have to do a visual field test, which should happen very quickly, I think. I want to do it as quickly as possible and get this fight right”, said Bisping, in an interview with the “BT Sport” website.
In recent months, Michael Bisping and Tim Kennedy have been publicly exchanging barbs. The animosity between the Brit and the American coincided with the period in which Bisping was recovering from an eye injury. In October last year, the “Conde”, as he is known, abandoned his fight against Mark Muñoz in his homeland due to injury and was replaced by the Brazilian Lyoto Machida. The TUF Nations 2 Finale event takes place on April 16th and marks the decision of the reality show that pits Canadian and Australian athletes face to face in the welterweight and middleweight categories.
