If the challenge proposed by the executive vice-president of World Series of Fighting Ali Abdelaziz to Bellator for athletes from the organizations to face each other should not materialize, the climate of tension between two of the main names in the events has already been established outside the cage. Motivated by the proposal of matchmakers of WSOF, Tyrone Spong sent a message to Quinton Rampage Jackson asking the rival to put pressure on the fight between them to happen, as well as the entire card of the Bellator vs WSOF. The result was a succession of harsh responses from both sides and even provocations for clashes that are beyond sport.

"Hey, Rampage. I just renewed with WSOF. So your boss (Bjorn Rebney, CEO of Bellator) has to make this happen, Bellator vs WSOF,” wrote Spong. The answer from Rampage came quickly. “Dude, I heard you’ve been making a name for yourself out there. You keep challenging me and you're not even in Bellator. Come here or shut your damn mouth”, countered the former UFC welterweight champion. The words of Rampage they took Tyrone seriously and the WSOF athlete decided to take satisfaction with his rival. “I didn't disrespect you in any way, I just said what the fans want. But if you insult me again, I’ll have to sort it out!”, he threatened.

In his rejoinder, Quinton jackson he again insulted Spong and called the Dutch-Surinamese “newbie”. The treatment further angered Spong, who cited his long kickboxing record to counter the argument. Tyrone's new attacks only motivated a, let's say, more personal challenge from Rampage. “You're just like any other fame-hungry newbie trying to make a name for himself on top of an old wolf. But I'm still going to fuck you, even at my advanced age, kid. Man, screw this talk Twitter. I don't have a boss, you spoiled brat. Follow me (on Twiiter) so I can give you my phone number. We can meet anywhere!”, she snapped.

A hypothetical duel between Tyrone Spong and Quinton Rampage Jackson was the main fight in the challenge proposed by Ali Abdelazis to Bellator. At 28 years old, Spong has a record of two wins and no losses in MMA. However, when it comes to kickboxing, the Dutch-Surinamese has 81 fights, with an impressive 73 victories. Already Quinton Rampage Jackson is a veteran of mixed martial arts. At 35 years old, Rampage has a record of 33 wins and eleven defeats. The former UFC light heavyweight champion is coming off a victory over Joey Beltran at Bellator 108, in his debut for the new organization.
